Being tired of standard distributor systems with that cap and rotor, some Team Pantera Racing members have opted to go with Electromotive Engine Controls.  These are distributorless ignition systems that typically use a crank trigger and multiple coils.  This has the benefit of an electronic ignition without the huge cap and rotor assembly, which in a Pantera can be too close to the rear window.

Jason Eaton who has run several Open Road Races, and participated in Bullrun, as well Dennis (Mad Dog) Antenucci have both run Electromotive systems in their Panteras.
