Team Pantera Racing is just now looking over the results for the Mojave One Mile Shootout (yea, a slackin' administrator here slowing things down) and we find that TPR member Darryl "SEAL" Johnson successfully ran his 1974 Pantera with a Big Block Ford to a top speed of 170.1 MPH in the best of three runs.  His was the -only- Pantera present.  Darryl's other two runs were 168.9 and 169.0.

Joe "Doc" Abe ran a modest 155 MPH in his Ford GT and fastest speed of the day went to Bob Griffin in his 1100hp twin turbo Viper hitting 223.9 MPH.  Behind Bob in Big Red was RJ Gottlieb who ran a best of three runs at 216.1.

Lots of Ford power was represented. Lots of factors in achieving max speed but we think Darryl's distance to 200 mph supports the Pope's theory on needing much more HP....like 800+ HP.  Most of all the fastest drivers had that kind of power.
