The new wheels are 17"x9" and this photo shows the rim width where the measurement is taken from -inside- the rim lip.

The diameter is taken from inside the rim lip as well, but since I don't have calipers that large, I'm measuring the inside diameter of the rim. Figure a quarter inch of material on each side and we're at the 17" spec.

Here is the wheel test fit on the rear hub. I found out from this test the wheels are not hub-centering, the rim center hole is about an eighth inch larger than the hub. I'll be looking for some hub-centering rings to help with that.

The rear brake caliper has plenty of clearance, but these -are- stock brake calipers that clear 15" wheels just fine so I would expect no problems.

The brake line was a concern. This photo shows it -does- clear the rim.

Focus was out, but this shows the brake line clearance even better.

My other concern was the upright pivot axle, but this photos shows plenty of clearance here too.

With the rim on a block of wood and the car lowered off the jack to compress the suspension, the clearance from the edge of the rim to the outside edge of the fender is nearly two inches. Plenty of room for those big meaty tires.

This is a good shot where you can see the hub to rim clearance. The wheel is -on- the top edge of the hub and all the space is shown below.

Clearance on the front is an issue. The flexible brake line is touching the rim in this photo. The good thing however, is that I can adjust the angle of the line going into the brake caliper because it uses a banjo fitting. We'll simply adjust this bet

Otherwise, front caliper clearance is really good. Again, the brake system was built to clear 15" wheels.

With the rim on a block of wood and the suspension compressed, clearance is a half inch. Seems kind of close, but we'll see later it's not.
