This is the area of the lower eye that was hammering on the a-arm. It too shows signs of wear, which tells me they've been interfering.

This is the lower eye. Note how the center of the bushing is not "centered" and is more toward the shock body. This means the exterior of the eye is sitting much lower in the a-arm.
