2009 was a slim year for participation, even so, Team Pantera Racing had some great folks race their Panteras in Open Road Events.

Michael Frazier who has been leading the charge at the Big Bend Open Road Race was looking to be the Iron Man award winner this year but fell short when he DNF'd due to a broken camshaft. The forensics and rebuild are continuing for a glorious return in 2010. For his efforts, Michael receives a well deserved Honorable Mention. We'll see him again next year.

Another honorable mention goes to Bob Levitt of New York. Team Pantera Racing would like to bestow "Rookie of the Year" on Bob for his first ever serious Pantera outing when he successfully completed the coast-to-coast Gumball 3000 (and as rumor has it, was the first to arrive at the finish line).

The Iron Man award for 2009 goes to Tom "Tommy Gun" Di Iulio of Colorado. Tom ran the Big Bend Open Road Race this year at 116.905 on the 1st leg (Ft Stockton to Sanderson) and 129.576 on the return leg (Sanderson to Ft. Stockton). This has earned Tom the Iron Man award for 2009. Tom is a orr veteran of Texas, Nebraska and Nevada open road races. Congratulations Tom.

The Gary Hall Memorial award for 2009 goes to Bob "Rowdy" Radefeld. Bob was selected for his dedication and support of both the DeTomaso marque and the team in 2009, participating in the Sandhills Open Road Challenge. Congratulations Bob.

The awards will be presented in a private ceremony later in 2009 or early 2010.
